Two additional award wins were announced this week for Minding the Gap, including the Best Director Award in the non-fiction feature category at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, and an Honorable Mention for Best Documentary at the Newport Beach Film Festival. 

The film was recently announced as a nominee for the 2018 Sheffield Doc/Fest's New Talent Award, where it will make its UK premiere on June 9 and 12. The film will make its NY premiere at the BAMcinemaFest in Brooklyn, NY on June 25

Previously, the film won the Special Jury Prize for Breakthrough Filmmaking at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, the Best Documentary Feature Award at the Sarasota Film Festival, the Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature and an honorable mention for the Charles E. Guggenheim Emerging Artist Award at the 2018 Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, the Best Editing: Feature Length Documentary Award at the Ashland Independent Film Festival, a Special Mention in the Next:Wave competition at CPH:DOX (the film's international premiere), the Best Feature Documentary Award at the Minneapolis St. Paul Film Festival, the Best Feature Documentary Award at the RiverRun International Film Festival, and the One in a Million Award at the Sun Valley Film Festival. 

Director Bing Liu was recently named one of Variety's '10 Documentarians to Watch in 2018' by Variety.
